Geek Sessions is a non-profit initiative dedicated to fostering the tech ecosystem in the Algarve. Everything we do is driven by volunteers and community spirit. Our website and events are provided “as is” for educational and networking purposes.

2. Community Code of Conduct

We pride ourselves on being a welcoming space. Whether you are on our website, in our Discord, or at a physical meetup, you agree to:

  • Be Respectful: Harassment, hate speech, or exclusionary behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Share Knowledge: We’re here to learn. Help others when you can, and be open to new ideas.
  • No Spam: Please don’t use our community spaces solely for aggressive self-promotion or “hard selling” without contributing to the conversation.

3. Event Attendance

  • Photography: As mentioned in our Privacy Policy, we record and photograph our events. By attending, you consent to your image being used in our community recaps and social media.
  • Liability: While we do our best to ensure a safe environment at our meetups, Geek Sessions and its organizers are not responsible for any personal injury or loss of property during our events.

4. Intellectual Property

  • Our Content: The logos, designs, and text on this site (built with love by WildCarob Web Studio) belong to Geek Sessions. Please don’t “fork” our brand without asking first.
  • Your Contributions: If you speak at an event or share code in our Discord, you retain ownership of your work, but you grant us the right to share the recording or summary with the community.

5. Third-Party Links

Our site contains links to other platforms (like Discord, YouTube, and our partner communities). We aren’t responsible for the content or privacy practices of those external sites—once you click away, their rules apply.

6. Changes to These Terms

As our community grows, we might update these terms. We’ll let you know about major changes via our Discord.

7. Governing Law

Geek Sessions operates under the laws of Portugal. Any disputes will be handled in the jurisdiction of the Algarve.
